Bunion is caused by prolonged pressure on the skin, especially in places where it is exposed to hard surface, i.e. bone. The most common cause of its appearance is long standing, tight shoes, irregular posture, foot deformity, etc. Bunion is very similar to nipple, but much more painful to touch. Bunion represents dead hyperceratolitic tissue, the tip of which is deeply cut in the derma, while the nipple is vegetative creation of the skin which contains blood vessels. For these reasons, nipples produce bleeding spots, while bunions do not. Bunions occur in small numbers, usually 1-2, unlike warts which appear in large numbers, as they are caused by virus and rapidly multiply.
